My Favourite Drink

What is your favorite drink?

My favourite drink is raita, especially when it is thick and chilled. I love the simple yet refreshing taste created by the perfect balance of salt and soft boondi mixed into creamy curd. The thick consistency makes it even more satisfying, and every spoon feels cooling and comforting. It is not just a drink for me, but something that refreshes my body and completes my meals.

What Is Raita

Raita is a traditional yogurt-based dish from India that is served cold and acts as a refreshing side or drink. It is made by mixing thick, creamy yogurt with salt and sometimes spices, herbs, or small ingredients like boondi (tiny crispy gram flour balls), cucumber, or mint.

For someone unfamiliar with Indian food, the easiest way to understand raita is:

🥣 It’s similar to a yogurt dip, but thinner—sometimes drinkable.

❄️ It’s cooling and refreshing, especially helpful with spicy food.

🌿 It balances flavors, calming the heat of spices and aiding digestion.

🍽️ It can be eaten or sipped, depending on how thick or thin it is.

Think of it as a savory yogurt cooler—creamy, slightly salty, and extremely refreshing.

  1. I always like to have raita after a stomach full of Biryani. 😁
